Matthew 28:19-20 contains what has come to be called the Great Commission: "Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. Christians are also called to follow these instructions as disciples of Jesus. Furthermore, the application of the Great Commission is not solely to go, but to pray to the Lord of the harvest for more laborers (Luke 10:2), to send them out as the church of Antioch did with Barnabas and Saul (Acts 13:2-3), and to support missionaries as "fellow workers in the truth" (3 John 8). In Matthew's gospel, the last words Jesus spoke to His disciples are what Christians call "The Great Commission." This is the mission that Yeshua commissioned His disciples to do in order to continue His work: expanding the Kingdom of Heaven/ God on earth.. 18 Then Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Great Commission is restated - Acts 1:8 - 8 but you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be My witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and even to the remotest part of the earth.
